Established in 1938, the Tree Care Industry Association is a trade association of more than 2,000 commercial tree care firms and affiliated companies. TCIA develops safety and education programs, standards of tree care practice, and management information for arboriculture firms around the world.
Maine Arborist Association (MAA)
MAA is a non-profit membership association that creates safety and educational programs and helps to develop tree care practice and management information for arborists and tree care specialists in the state of Maine.
Maine Board of Pesticide Control (BPC): Licensed Applicators
The Maine BPC has the responsibility for licensing applicators and distributors to ensure pesticides are used properly and to protect the people and the environment of Maine. Hawkes Tree Service is proud to be Licensed Applicators through the Maine BPC, demonstrating advanced knowledge in the safe and effective handling and application of pesticides. National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO)
Formed in 1995, the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop effective performance standards for safe crane operation to assist all segments of general industry and construction. By providing thorough, independent assessments of knowledge and skills, NCCCO aims to enhance lifting equipment safety, reduce workplace risk, improve performance records, stimulate training, and give due recognition to the professionals who work in, with, and around cranes.
Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry: Licensed Arborists
Hawkes Tree Service is proud to be licensed as Arborists through Maine's Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. This license is required for anyone performing arborist services in Maine and allowed independent work in the field of arboriculture. Candidates must pass a test in either landscape, utility, or both categories demonstrating knowledge, skill and capability to safely and professionally provide arborist services to the public.
